26x Front stay length

My roller furler broke on my 2000x and I don't plan on replacing until spring. What is the length of the front stay that I need to install to hold up the mast while I powerboat for the rest of the season?

Hi Tom, I'm curious, what brand of furler and what broke exactly?
Dennis.

It is a CDI and one of the screws that holds the u-bolt at the base of the furler came out and the hole is stripped.

In answer to your question, I measured my forestay length, (mast hound to furler pin) to be 27 feet.
To address your problem:
If it is a screw that holds the strap on the bottom of the cup,
...remove both screws, and...
...drill and tap, or self-tap the screws in a new location on the white polyblock on the inside of the cup...

I agree with the fix above, but if you want to get onto the water fast, just slide the furler up, undo the turnbuckle, and pull the forestay out through the top of the foil. Put the turnbuckle back together, adjust to where it was, and put your mast back up using the now-naked forestay. Fix the furler when you can.
But I'm not sure you'd save much time over just drilling and tapping a couple of new holes, or redrilling and tapping the existing holes for larger screws, if they fit the clamp.

For about 0.10 Boat buck or less, you can replace the poly bushing with the nice Torlon bearing race from CDI and install that instead - it does make furling a lot easier than the polyblock, I found.
Make sure you rinse it if you sail in salt..

Thanks for the ideas, I went with the larger self tapping screws and they tightened up. It held overnight and I'll test drive it next weekend.
