Venture 222 pulpit, stern rail and stanchions

Post by briantousignant »

My boat was originally equipped with a complete lifeline system which was removed. Can anyone help me find a source, such as salvaged boat ?

I believe all of the MacGregor railings, stanchions and swim ladders were made by Railmakers.

I am sure they have the specifications for the OEM design of your pulpit and stanchions if you want a new set. Not sure where you'd find a used one, unless a while boat is being scrapped.

The lifelines themselves were swaged stainless cable. Blue Water Yachts would likely be able to supply that.

I don't think that the factory put stern pulpits on the early original 22's. Of course I could be wrong, just ask my family. :)

My '71 V-22 has the bow pulpit and side lifelines, but no rear pulpit.
It also has the cutout on the port stern for an outboard engine.
Hope this helps you. :)
