A Work of Art

My daughter's father-in-law, Art Brooker, surprised me last week with this 1:18 scale model of Chiquita that he had spent months working on. He carved it from a block of cedar using templates he made from the lines drawings. He is not a sailor and there are a few rigging details that aren't quite right but it still looks great!

It's really nice in and of itself, but the time and effort put into it by someone else makes it priceless.

What can I say? My rubber ducky found another job -- as the knob on the end of my outboard motor shifter extension!
