Tips on Installing Fuel/Water Separator

Purchased a Moehler Fuel/Water Separator & was planning on installing it on the port side of the outboard well on my 26M. The plan was to drill two 3/8" holes & fasten the filter head to the well with SS bolts with washers & nuts. I've since discovered that the inner fiberglass liner prevents any access from the inside to do this.
Anyone out there with ideas/suggestions on an alternative way to fasten the filter head close to the outboard?

Just mounted mine pretty well where you did yours with self tappers because I couldn't be bothered removing the foam again but yours may not have the stern rails which were standard on aussie models and required access holes but you could put them in anyway as they are handy for getting wires etc up the arch.
Mine has been there for a few long and rough road trips now, might have used some silicone as well but can't remember

To install mine in the stbd motorwell of my

, I had to remove flotation foam thru an access plate in the rear berth cieling, and replace foam when finished, of course. This access allowed me to install a backing plate for the thru-bolts.

Having an access hole here should allow you to hold nuts etc but handy for other instalations too.
