We hyjacked another thread on this forum so we decided to start a new one...
It seems most of us rely heavily on the old 'hook-n-loop'. List how YOU use Velcro® aboard your boat.
Rules are simple: We start with #1 and go until we hit #101. When you post your ideas start with the next number where the last post left off. I will get it started with just a couple so there is plenty of room for others, but I'll be adding more if needed!
1. I use strips of 3/4" velcro® when securing the furler to the mast when storing/trailering.
2. I use small sticky back velcro® on a curtain that serves to hide the head from view of the cabin/cockpit so you don't have to close the door in that tiny room!
3. I use the same curtain to give privacy to the entire cabin by blocking the companionway. All held up with VELCRO® !

4. I use velcro® dots under each corner of the sliding hatch to stop it wearing away the gelcoat (others use strips all the way down its length I believe)
5. Velcro® dots to hold my anemometer and my stereo remote control on the bulkhead liner, or on the pedestal when sailing
6. A simple mozzie net can be made for the forward hatch, by putting sticky backed velcro® (hook part ) around the inside - then get a small piece of the very fine mesh type material you can get at cloth and curtain making type stores (think they make tutus and that kind of stuff out of it) This will stick straight to the velcro® and keeps the bities out no worries.
7. Easy sail ties
8. If you use a laptop to navigate, you could stop it from sliding off the table with velcro® dots or stips.

11. The obvious hold a coil of line when you are not using it. They make "Velcro® One Wrap" so you can just cut off a suitable amount.

Yeah use a fair bit of velcro® from under the hatch slider to holding insect curtains around all the hatches in place also use it to hold bags etc onto the carpet on the walls and double sided for the fibreglass but probably the most handy item to have around.

Don't really use velcro® but Dual Lock® . Much stronger and probably strong enough to hold my kids to keep them out of the way if necessary. All jokes aside, I use it to hold the cushions on the berths, keep the extra long hose for my manual bilge pump coiled together and to keep the fireblanket and 1st aid kit stuck on the wall.

Used "Industrial Strength" Velcro® to mount two light-weight plastic loop-style towel hangers on bulkhead (wall) in head.

15. (?) Several strips of the wide, industrial strength stuff to secure the porta potty tank to the floor. Perfect results going on 5 years.
(concur with the full length strips on the slide hatch and the compartment covers under the rear berth cushions)

17. Used to stick a small stereo to the sliding hatch when in the cockpit, stick to an interior wall when in the cabin.
18. Used to stick the DVD remote over the forward berth so it doesn't grow legs.

Used it to fasten a magazine rack big enough to hold charts to the carpet on the daggerboard trunk.
Word of caution. If you attach and move velcro® 'd items to the bulkhead carpet you'll start to get some fuzz which you'll need to shave with a fabric/lint shaver.

22. Wrap it around swim ladder. Holds tight, no rattles, but a quick tug and it comes down easily.
