Hello all!

My wife and I just purchased our1995 :macx: two days ago. We purchased her from a couple who drove her to us, put her in the water and we were off. Aside from the engine dying when we were about to put her in the slip, all was well.

We are new to all of this and except for an introductory sailing course we took this past spring, we have very little experience. I have a feeling we will have a lot of questions and it would seem that y'all are all very knowledgable and helpful and we will greatly benefit and appreciate any advice you can spare!

Looking forward to many adventures of our own as well as hearing about all of yours!

Kathryn

Hello and welcome
There are a few board members in your area (that you maybe able to bribe with the right after sail beverages) to get pointers dive4it is just south of you in Portland
if you go to the ( Destinations, Clubs, Events and Venues) page of this site and read the http://www.macgregorsailors.com/forum/v ... =4&t=19532 then you can find Mac owners on goggle earth.
and when I just cliked on it I see that Hamin'X is just west of you.

good luck
And always remember "There are no stupid questions only stupid mistakes"

What marina are you in?...we are at Tomahawk Bay through Aug. then going to Elliot Bay in Seattle for Sept.....I am only a year ahead of you with these things but if I can be of any assist let me know...I did find out last night that until I get a lot better not to take the wife out in 20kt wind.

Also: re the engine ...run a tankful of Seafoam treated gas...it's amazing (O'rielies auto parts)

We are at McCuddy's on Hayden Island so we are neighbors! We are excited to learn more, I feel a bit overwhelmed!
