After a spare wheel for the trailer ( White 5 stud wheel)

Will just buy one new in about a year when we are going away, but being cheap, I thought I'd put this up and see if I can get a cheaper second hand one from anyone that might have done a trailer upgrade

I've got 2 trailers thus 2 x 2 wheels plus the 3 new alloy ones I bought to fit to the one refurbished trailer sooooo I guess one wheel I can loose....none are pretty.... all are rusty...original american cheap tyres...so not particularly good even when new and now possibly 10 years old....definitely not 100KPH material....but more probably limp to the nearest tyre service to fix your hopefully better tyre...02 66899246 0428 899246

Thanks Bart, planning on getting decent tyres before any tripping so the tyre is unimportant. But postage would be a killer - really looking for something local, by the way, anyone know how much those rims are new?
Cheers

New I paid $276 for an alloy specialised boat trailer rim fitted with a 10 ply truck tyre both rated well above 1000 kgs...but the second hand wheel I've got will go for $40 plus a "couriers please" freight cost of about $15...we're only 100kms south of you

Bart, appreciate that, but we realized its probably more sensible to put some proper rims on with the new tyres we will buy  What rim and tyre have you used?

Paul,

225/70R 15 116 load index

I bought a pirelli with similar load index recently. Was more expensive and now - no longer available. My next one will be the Maxxis with 116 load index. I think I was quoted 189.00 a while ago.

Just bought 2 stainless steel 25l fuel tanks at the Whitworths 15% off. I was told that the ss tanks are more prone to condensation re water in fuel. At least I can lift these out to store inside. The OEM's are 45ltrs.

Hope all is well for you. 8)

Kind Rgds

Dave!
Thanks, Havn't seen you here in ages where ya bin :?: Hope all has been okay for you and the family

Stainless steel ones eh, flash!

Is there enough space at the top for cap on those 45 litre ones, I'm sure I saw somewhere that there isnt?? Have you bought these SS ones for spare fuel or are you getting rid of the 45l ones, if so, are you selling em?? My 22l plastic ones are not quite enough....

Hi Paul,

just checking whether you ever got your spare wheel or not. Having now modified WIndSong's trailer to a dual axle setup I know have 3 x 15 inch white rims available shod with:

2 x 225/70R 15 Yokohama 818 light truck tyres with > 5000kms on them
1x 225/70 15 Michelin Unused

I live South of Sydney so freight could be expensive.

Cheers

David
