What steering do I have?

Sorry I know steering has been covered many times, I have yet another question.
Mine would be the original steering as fitted to 2001 Mac 26x but there is no make on it, by reading various posts I gather there are several different makes & designs fitted. I hope I have attached photos (my first attempt) that somebody can identify it from.
I want to lubricate my steering cable, it is not stiff or anything purely winter preventative maintenance.
I have read the post about putting a hose pipe over the outer cable and filling it with oil – great Idea which I intend to follow. My problem is the steering rack itself, I have removed it from the steering assembly, but cannot see how to remove it from the cable. Can anybody advise on this? As it is too large to get a hose over then reduce the hose down to the cable diameter and make oil tight.
Thanks
Graham

It has been a couple of years since I had mine apart, but it looks just like yours. Seems like there was a strap on the back side of the rack that was held on with a couple of screws. Or, the strap may have been riveted over the cable end and I drilled it out and replaced the rivets with screws. This strap held the end of the cable captive to the rack.

I do have the strap you mention, which is riveted to the end of the cable or rod, I was hoping there would be another way to remove it. thanks anyway
