Gate Valve rod Shot

I have a 2003 26x.

I had it in fresh water until last year. No problems with Gate Valve. Used in salt water about 10 times and now I have an issue of the rod for the gate valve corroding aware and weld breaking. Brought it to a welder and he said the rod is crap (china stainless) -- rewelded new rod but I broke apart the top of plastic to extract gate and rod.

Does anyone know of a replacement other than the original manufacturers that might hold up to saltwater? Any different approach--- same issues?
