Hi All
We have a Mac26x in the Southern Bahamas (Long Island)
beautiful cruising here,
Due to work we only use the boat about 1 week per month, and have been thinking of offering it for charter (bareboat)
As this would be a first for us, we're just wondering if there would be any interest, and what sort of price would be reasonable, any thoughts, ideas?

Seems it could be a nice idea. Instead of having to trailer and cross the big water, one could simply fly out there and charter. Maybe chartering would end up being cheaper too. As far as price, couldn't you look up and find prices on other chartered sailboats in the area?

Especially appealing to those of us on the wrong coast, too far away to ever really trailer there.......
Might even return the favor for those wanting to cruise the sanjuans and gulf islands........lol

Speaking of Mac charters, does anyone know of Mac charters available in the Florida Keys? (We are going to be there for a week starting tomorrow.)

I don't know of Mac Charters in the keys. Mac is a good boat for that because of the shallow draft.
I did rent a houseboat out of Islamorada. 42 foot by about 10 or 12 feet. Had A/C, head with shower, fridge, stove, ice chests, generator, etc.
Had a great time, basically like driving a single-wide trailor around in the back country in the Keys.
I got a 17 foot runabout to tow too. The little boat is a big help going ashore or out to the reef to snorkel.
You can moor out next to one of the many Tiki bars and have a good ole time or moor out in the boonies and do what you want.
Saw lots of dolphins, tarpon, sharks, and got really drunk at some tiki bars. I would definitely do it again.
I think this is the place, nice people running it too, for instance on the last day our contract was up around noon and they said heck keep it till tonight no problem and no charge:

PS. I had a contract depo with another outfit when I got down there. The boat they tried to rent me was so lame that I backed out. So use these guys they are the best. They had a cancellation so we lucked out.
