I looked at going a couple of years ago. No Macs. Ended up buying my 26M after seeing it for the first time.

Bummer i want to check one out so bad, guess im gonna have to drive to Atlanta or Jacksonville. I think those are the closest dealers to Columbia, SC. There was an 03m at a used dealer with honda 50 blue hull not sure what other options, and surely my luck went to look at it on my day off and she was gone being shipped to england for 11995.

monitored Craig's List over a couple of years and ended up pulling the trigger on an 07 M that was on the NC/VA border. There always seemed to be several that went listed in eastern NC so maybe concentrate there. Also in Charlotte. Good luck.

Thanks for the info I really hope I can find a dealer who hopefully has an x and an m, I hate to waste an individuals time as I won't be ready to buy for probably 3 yrs. I have never been onboard either boat but on paper er computer screen lol, I like the x interior better and like the idea of the center board for accidental grounding, however I love the exterior of the m with the 2 black stripes it looks really slick. I've been looking online at both boats over a year and just want to get an in person look so I'm not dreaming till its time to buy and then get disappointed, however I don't think I will be.

Don't get on board one unless you hate yourself. That'll be the longest couple of years ever :|

I might consider checking out the boat show as I just now learned of it, and I'm about an hour and a half away.

From my observation of the behavior of the MacGregor dealers here (Atlanta and Jacksonville), they don't seem to consider the Macs their flagship boat, so they'd likely take something different if they have a booth.

I can be hopeful that they have some good gadget ideas or good deals on cruising gear at the show.

If you're not going to buy for 3 years then I'd stop looking immediately and forget about this board. I had a 5 year plan. At year 3 I got antsy and started to monitor craigs list and this board. By year 4 I had my boat. Best decision I ever made. So my recommendation is to wait 2 years and start looking. Otherwise, you're going to pull the trigger early.

I dunno. There was a guy on here not to long ago that picked a mac 19/22? for $300. Needed alot of elbow grease and some time, but...I think its one of those things that everyone sees the new fully loaded version first then it sets the bar. I think it should be more about getting out on the water. It's like those people that tell you that a Mac isn't a good power boat or a good sailor, but you're out on the water while they're watching from the hard  I've gone from sleeping under my canoe or a tarp to a weather tight cabin with sparkly lights and a smokless fire ooohh awwwee...so pretty much anything is an upgrade and a luxury
