Honda BF50 Impeller Replacement

So after 13 years finally getting around to replacing the impeller on my motor.

Hardest part was getting the lower unit off. The bolts were darn near siezed. I would loosen them up a bit and hit it with some PB-Blaster, wait a while, come back and loosen a little more. Got the 4 main ones off with no problem. The fifth bolt under the trim tab sheered off though :? Hitting it with the PB-Blaster and will try and remove the part that's still there later.

My question is how to prevent it from seizing up again?

Can I use anti-seize on these bolts?

Thanks!

I work on 20-30 outboards a year and use anti sieze for everything especially lowerends and spark plugs....nothing beats it and you will rarely ever have anything sieze again...if you can't get #5 out with penitrating oil you could try sme heat then shrink the bolt with ice on the broken stud sometimes that works..not to worry tho you can just grind it off and not re install it the 4 mains will hold..bob

Thanks Bob!

I've got some anti seize and will use it.

#5 came out. Soaked it in PB-Blaster, then put the vice grips on the protruding 1/4". Rocked it back and forth, more PB-Blaster and managed to get it out. Not easily or smoothly, but it did come out....
