Great sailing evening!

I went out on the lake this evening and spent the whole time with trimming exercises. I locked the tiller centered, and sailed in big 2 mile long figure 8s by sail trim alone. It's my favorite boat exercise.

It's a 26 S.

The X and M look like they have a lot of freeboard... that can't help any.

If it's just not stable, have you gone as far as pulling a drogue, or trailing 50 feet of rode with a life jacket tied to it? If I had to do it for real with a rudder failure, that's the first thing I would do on my boat.

Last night, I was using a 150 rolled up to about 90 with my board pulled up a little over a third of the way to shift the balance of my boat back. I had light wind, traveling between 3-4 knots. It's not bad at a full 150, but sail handling is easier rolled to 90.

Ah....yes... the freeboard of the powersailors, so hated under sail, so loved on anchor....
