Beaten by a Mac!

Some of you know I bought a Cooper 316 pilothouse this winter. I was out sailing it in pretty nice winds on Cowichan Bay last Saturday. It doesn't point worth a darn and I could only make five knots pulling the dinghy but I was happy as a clam.

I see this MacGregor coming down the bay from the north, of course I'm interested. Left my binoculars at home so change tack to try and edge over and see if it's someone from this board. Before I could get close enough to make out the name, the Mac points up way higher than I can and simply outdistances me. Now I'm a cynic, so I figure she's got fifty horses in the water and is motor sailing. As she passes me, I'll be damned, the motor is in the up position and this 26X is hauling ass away from me. Made my day.
Saw her later that evening coming in, didn't recognize the name from anyone on this board, and frankly I forget what it was now. But if you guys read this and realize it was you- Cheers! You were looking mighty fine!
