Just got back from a great weekend on the boat. :D :D :D Fun, Sun, Swimming,Heat, Thunder, Lightning, conversation, Rain, Rum...only thing missing was the wind! :? I introduced Galactica to six other boats in a raft-up! Got many positive compliments on the Blue hull! :) They got to see how fast she is under the Etec's influence as we motored to a marina last night!

Very nice. We were on the water also. Many folk in my area were on their boats.
Great weather here...but as you noted, we had some late afternoon rain threats also.

Looking forward toward the 4th of July, and hoping for good weather :!:

We made it up to Lake Champlain and had both kinds of wind...too much and not enough!! The Admiral had some quality helm time, while I was the winch monkey & railmeat! Even had to do an adrift shift cable change. That's the 2nd time this lake has claimed my shift cable! 8)

With a full ballast tank, I could not tell if the boat was any faster with the new PT. There were some fishermen that spun around and pointed when I opened Galactica up and she shot forward... 8) I seemed to have less of a spray at WOT but I was messing with the motor's trim angle too.

I noticed the PT most while putting around at near idle speeds and when backing up. It seems to back up with more response. If there is a measurable improvement in speed, I don't have the proper equipment to evaluate it. With my nearly 14" prop on the etec 60, 5500rpm was WOT. I don't have a speedometer or Chartplotter to measure.

I haven't checked the fuel tank to see my fuel usage but I didn't motor that much this weekend. That said, the lake was like glass at 11pm when the flotilla decided to motor to the marina. At only 3000 RPM, I outstripped the other sailboats by a mile. I ended up playing in circles waiting for them to eventually catch up! :)

Regardless, I don't regret installing the PT.
