How to mount fishing rods

I would like to mount my 4 fishing rods inside the cabin somehow.
Now I have it just against the hull over the table and over the backrests of one of the seats.
I'm thinking on attach something to the roof over the seat area, but dont know how to perforate or just glue he rods supports that you can find at Academy or west Marine.
Any ideas ?
Thank you

Hector, I just use the large suction cups with a plastic hook that clamps down for stronger suction purchased from Home Depot. I suction it to the roof over the table and place the rods across the boat instead of length wise. The rod bends nicely to the curve of the roof. Just have to watch out and not let a hook and line hang off the end of the rods so that the admiral doesn’t loose an eye.

You can buy stainless steel fishing rod holders that clamp onto your stantions and are adjustable. I bought one at a marine store and have it on the stern stantion of my 'M', but I use it to hold my B-B-Q instead since it is a perfect fit.

I performed a similar mounting for my magnakettle,

however,

I made one mistake, It fits the kettle perfectly and swings out over the port rudder,
however I mounted it too low on the side combing of the motor well, and now cannot mount any of my plastic rod holders since the base of the rodholder swivels hit the boat before the mount is fully in the socket.

raise em up.

Here this should help no screws or bolts on the aft berth one required. Used liquid nails stuff.

Road, that looks pretty neat, and out of the way for rods. Where did you get those plastic rod holders?

Can't take a photo today, the boat is shrinkwrapped, but these cord hangers have held for years.
Cheap and cheerful.

This is where I mounted my fishing rod holders. I also use them to hold a couple of yard solar lights.

The solar lights collect sun all day and make great light for hours in the cockpit at night…but also I can remove them and take them down into the cabin when needed.

Ours are stored inside here. This keeps them completely out of the way,
I wouldn't want them anywhere in the main living area.
The holder will hold 6 rods although we use the top one for our water skiing flag.

Here's a closer shot of how they integrate with our canvas storage area.
They easily slide into the foam jaws yet are very secure and have never fallen out in 10 years.

We also have two Scotty rod holders on the mid-pulpit that can store rods when under way as well.
You can also troll with them turned out to each side.
They lift and turn to any rotation angle both horizontally and vertically.
They also have a twist locking slide that captures they reel and prevents
them from falling or being knocked out.
They are just above and aft of the fender bags in this picture.

Yep you will have to go with duane system or something like it. However you will have to space them out a little more for saltwater rods or add a third foamy bracket. I cant even find my system for sale anywhere. Must have been a clearence item at Discount Boaters World before they went out of buisness. What ever system you use just make sure it has enough contact area with the inside boat hull wall if you want to go with liquid nails or something like that, so you dont have to use screws or bolts.

The rods in my picture are from the old days when the kids were little and toy rods were all we needed. Note the foam pipe wrap cable tied on so they wouldn't sink if they dropped them. The same rack now carries 4 full size one and two piece salt water rods and reels, and there is still room for the water skiing flag. Two supports work just fine along the aft port wall. mounted on the wall the foam grippers really just keep them in the slot, the weight of the bigger rods is carried on the plastic.

Mine are screwed on to the liner, you just have to be very careful drilling the pilot holes in this area as the liner can be tight to the hull and it can be hard to tell when you have to stop drilling.
