Cool thanks - actually looks a lot like my 2000 26X, but I know it's not ... I'm in South Florida (Jupiter). I'd like to move to Pensacola someday, but I just have a hard time thinking about moving away from the Atlantic to the Gulf waters.

It looks like Bossa Nova, too, but for the lovely background! (It 'shore' doesn't look like the Chesapeake Bay!)

Even more interesting is that it's being used to illustrate a story on Florida charters...

"Picture your boat here, just a trailer-drive away!"

There must be a boat ramp nearby, and in a few months I'm going to want some Florida time. Bossa Nova could be just the boat for the Redneck Riviera - my own little "seaside resort," on the blue side of the beach.

I'd like to charter a 26X someplace that I can't reach with Bossa Nova. Punta del Este, maybe? 8)

He didn't really anchor his boat by attaching it to a lawn chair did he? :D

You could snooze in the chair, and if your boat tried to drift out to sea, it would tug you awake

Note the blue colour of the lawn chairs...makes them suitable for anchoring...

That picture was taken in Fort Mcree . Its a barrier island at the mouth of Pensacola Bay . Also there is a 'spoils' isand where they dump the ICW dredging . Fort Pickens is to the east and just across the mouth of the Bay
Its a beautiful anchorage. On a good weekend there might be a 100 boats in there.

The best way to anchor, in there , is to drop a bow anchor and back up to the shore , then take a stern anchor ashore.
The only problem with it , is the jellyfish . They love to congregate there. So its not good swimming.
In times past we have had to leave the anchorage , go just outside of it and get a saltwater bath.

The nearest boatramp is Bayou Chico , just a few miles in the Bay , North of the lighthouse you see in the picture. Its an excellent ramp and good marina. Good place to leave your tow rig.

No , its not my article. I just recognized the area .
We have spent many a night there , in our travels up and down the ICW .
A few times we have towed down to Bayou Chico and put in there and gone out to Ft Mcree .
The fort is in ruins and buried under the sand dunes . The ruins make for interesting beach hiking, as you ocaasionally find sidewalks , remains of buildings , and tunnels in the sand.

The big dune behind the Mac is the spoils island , on the other side of that Island is the ICW .
The lighthouse is Fort Eustis , which is now on Pensacola Naval Air station.

Originally , the three forts guarded access to Pensacola Bay . Pickens and Eustis are both alive and well , but poor Mcree is in ruins. This is all part of the National Barrier Islands.

Did anyone ever figure out who owns the boat in the picture? It would be great if they are a member of this forum.
