Trailer MOD

Because Mac
trailer is in fact the best for taking the
in and out the water I decided to keep it (mi trailer is 12 years old but it was sand blasted and treated for corrosion 9 years ago).
I have done a lot of Mods

WOW! Thats alot of work and mods.I am impressed. I just bought a new M trailer for my X and skipped all work of bringing the old 2000 X up to trustworthy long distance travel standards. The old X trailor was still Ok but I tow to the N/W from Socal.
The new M trailor has new disc brakes, 15" tires and f/g fenders.It is made of alumium and weighs 300lbs less than X trailor and holds 800lbs more weight, I had Macgregor do the mod to the M. It also has a 5 electric prong instead of 4, I am not sure what that does. Mike at Mac is the only reason I did this as I had no clue how do the change.

was your trailer made by west mercia? i have an 8 year old trailer by west mercia,mine was galvanised and i have no visable rust.

The 5th pin is sometimes use as the connection between you tow vehicle's back up lights and your trailer brake lock out. If you coupler supports this it would save you from having to put a pin in everytime you wanted to back up and not activate the brakes and lock up the wheels.

Thanks for info on 5th pin. I need to change the connector with the 5th pin on my truck.

I need some help checking mi translation please...
Is TONGLE the correct name ?
Is LIFT the correct name for the vertical "winch" ??? Is it JACK?
Is WINCH the correct name for the "winch" that pulls the boat bi the bow ???

Not sure what a "tongle" is... are you referring to the "tongue" (the long part that goes over the ball on the hitch)?

We in the US generally refer to that as the "Trailer Jack".

Trailer Tongue:
To install new brakes I had to replace the trailer's tongue. This one has an electric servo for auto reverse and a new powerful trailer jack.

Tire:
Replacing the small reinforcement bar with a larger one provided a perfect place for mounting the spare tire.

Winch:
The winch support was moved down and inverted. A larger and more powerful new winch was installed. The most interesting feature is that the winch has a 2-speed system and the second speed is so powerful that the Mac "bump" is no longer necessary.

Trailer Jack:
Longer and more powerful jack to use the trailer to lift the boat directly on the garden shipyard
Not sure what you meant by that last line, Jose. Did you mean that the trailer's new jack allows you to raise the trailer so that the boat can be hauled aboard the trailer from a position in your back garden?

What I am trying to say is that the larger trailer jack, allows me to haul the trailer with the boat.
1 - I move the tongue down
2 - Insert the support bar at the rear of the boat
3 - With the longer Jack I "lift" the bow up
4 - Insert the second support bar in front of the trailer bow V
5 - Lower the trailer down
6 - Remove the trailer
7 - Paint the hull.
The garden shipyard is composed of
- 4 granite cubes (3ft)
- 2 metallic bars larger than the trailer. (3mt)
- each bar as similar shape to the trailer bars.

Ah. Then I would probably say:
Trailer Jack:
Longer and more powerful jack can be used to lift the boat directly onto a home-made cradle in my back garden and to remove the trailer when bottom maintenance is required.
