Broken Antenna

Post by KEVIN'S OWN »

We're getting our :macm: ready for the season and have found our antenna at the top of the mast has been broken off. Also the antenna cable connection plug has also been "ripped" off (the piece which goes into the boat deck.) :(

- is this original manufacturer's equipment or is it something supplied by the dealer from whom we purchased the boat? Is there a specific replacement part number we need to know if we need to search for a replacement?

Appreciate any assistance.

That would NOT be from the manufacturer.

I have one of these antennas on top of mine.

The connector for the deck is probably a PL-259 which is easily available. You may even get one at Radio Shack, although they won't have a VHF marine antenna. The connector might need to be soldered, but there are some screw on types.

Will have to check this weekend to see if we have the same antenna - looks similar. Thanks for the info.
