HooRay!!! the Pub is not running the show.
This is great...a sailing forum, back to sailing. Give it some time and I think membership in the Pub will plummet as the audience dwindles to the same comments being passed around. I belong to some ham groups on the net and when it gets slow throw a comment on which antenna to use and its good for the same 50 posts. Good by pub!! or Pub on my terms.

Re: HooRay!!! the Pub is not running the show.
Heath had a great idea opening the Front Room and Back Room, separating it from "sailing" topics and interests. Obviously, some guys want no part of the asylum. Someone in there mentioned, how about naming it the "Padded Room".
Anyway, so far, some real FUN goes on with continued "nonsense" and "non-sailing" head banging, especially in the "Back Room"
I have to hand-it to Heath -- he really knows how to design a great sailing site for Mac owners. Salute.

Moderator Note:
We appreciate the favorable comments on the new Forum structure. As an example of how the new structure is supposed to work, this topic belongs in The Front Room of The Pub. I encourage all members to join The Front Room, as there are many topics of interest there that do not fit into the regular sailing forums. We will not allow any brawling in The Front Room, rest assured.
This topic will be moved in few days, when the activity dies down.

Louis,
Thanks for the nice comments. I'm sure it will take a bit of tweaking to get things working smoothly with the new structure but I think it will be worthwhile. More good stuff to come....

Re: HooRay!!! the Pub is not running the show.
Heath and Rich -- Certainly, this new design approach is really nice, especially as you've mentioned concerning the "Front Room". Mac sailors having opportunity for civil talk, pics, intertainment, etc. will be great fun in the Front Room -- a clean "family" place to gather.
Its a great place for us fellow Mac'ers, discussing our Ups, Downs, Pets, Wins, Losses, and general life sharing issues. A real nice place for fellowship -- and Im glad you've designed the Front Room within this Forum. A nice place to get to know and be acquainted with one another.
I hope the "Front Room" catches on for some good Mac Family Sharing. I initially had a little difficulty understanding the difference -- "Front" and "Back" Rooms. Maybe the Front Room would be better understood named, The Mac Family Room, or Family Room, or, something leaning with a more family titled theme.
But, its all very good. And, Thanks.

Re: HooRay!!! the Pub is not running the show.
This is a REALLY nice setup! As Captain Steve says, it looks like a sailing forum again. Thanks very much, Heath.

I thought it was me for a while but it looks as if quite a few other sailors felt the same

I also like the new separation of rooms. Whilst some of the more passionate and polarised political debate among fellow sailors has been both interesting and informative to someone from downunder, it did start to overwhelm the rest of the forum.
Thanks Heath

Heath, et. al.,
I too would like to add my thanks.
I use the "View New Posts" link and got very tired of scrolling through all the ugliness of the PUB. This is much better.
Thanks,
Jim
