Hi All!

I just wanted to let you all know how valuable this forum has been to me and PROTEUS. Though I submitted little in the way of mods myself, I wanted each of you to know I took your suggestions, pro and con, to heart.

I recently purchased a somewhat more classic yacht, 1978 Bristol 29.9, ZEPHYR, which will more closely fit my needs. I plan to do more extended cruising up and down the eastern seaboard eventually going cruising/live-aboard.

I know what I learned hear from all of you will be invaluable as I step up. I carry a small piece of each and every one of you on my future journeys. A large part of PROTEUS will be with me too.

If youre interested in seeing PROTEUS, and a list of mods done to her, visit:

http://www.pcbdui.com/proteus/

She is now on the market having received several interested calls already.

MAC owners RULE!!

Again,
Thanksand Godspeed to you all.

Ed Tordahl

Have a good cruise Ed...and keep in mind that you don't have to own a Mac to post here. Just get yourself a laptop and an aircard 8)

Ed,

Did you already disappear ? I hope not !! I have a question. In your Mac pics you have a "lantern" Hanging over the table.

Is it battery or AC and did you have to run wires to it ?

Also how did you attach it to the ceiling ?

I have a similar AC illuminated Brass Lantern and am curious.

I guess Ed must be enjoying his new boat !! I wonder if Sibyl ever got a chance to look at his Mac. It looks like the two of them were not too far apart Geographically.

Hi Don,
I sure didn't......I emailed him and didn't hear back. I may try again, it seems so many ISP's have so many spam filters implemented that a lot of email is getting lost in the shuffle. I am thinking I may do better with a 19, a smaller boat may be just the ticket for me. I also may take a trip out to PA and stop at the dealer in central NJ who has a few X's. Plus I have to meet up with Otho at some point. Plus I need to get my boat cleaned up so I can sell it! But with everyone at work on vacation except me I can't seem to get anything done!

Ah well, at least the weather's been nice here.

My brother runs a Web hosting business and he is amazed how much spam mail there is. He installs filters to stop it and than customers complain that their mail is either not going out or they are not receiving mail from other people. He checks into it for them and finds that the people are on blacklists even though they are legit email users.

Sibyl,

I see you are an Air Traffic Controller ? My cousin is one out on Long Island.

No pics (only line drawings) but here's a link to a review. Sounds like a nice boat!

Don,
Yep....I work at JFK Tower. Been a lousy year for weather and delays....on my days off I only feel like sitting around the house and recovering. In fact I'm supposed to be off tomorrow but probably have to go in. :-(
