It looks like you have bunks running for/aft instead of across the trailer side to side. I prefer your setup, as that is what I have for my '76 V25. My trailer was from a power boat and fits exactly like yours except for tandem axles. However I have seen some debate as to the different approaches for the bunks. Was there a special reason you went with the for/aft arrangement?

for/aft bunks are what the manufacture recommended, the manufacture has done a lot of macgregors including classics, so i followed his advise.

seems to be working well with no problems with bunk pressure displacement.

I would be very interested in seeing more pictures, and some contact information if you'd share, since the word "custom" usually negates talking to "just anybody".

Around here most sling launches will not launch a boat from bunk trailers as most bunks run fore /aft. The exception is the Mac bunk trailer with it's side to side bunks which are no problem at a sling launch. It's really nice to launch the boat without having to dunk the trailer in salt water.

We've only dunked the trailer in salt water twice in the past 5 years of trips. The rest have been saltwater sling launches and the freshwater launch 10 minutes from our house. We're lucky that from that fresh water ramp we can go out through the locks into Puget Sound.

This is why our 12 year old stock trailer still has very little rust.

edit, in this case "custom" equates to some minor alterations to one of road runners stock trailers.

i'm not sure if this bunk set up will be a an issue at a sling launch due to the location and size of bunks.
