Post by pxk3 »

I am considering doing some fall fresh water sailing on Lakes Marion and/or Moultrie in South Carolina. :) Has anyone sailed either of these lakes or have any recommedations as to launch ramps, etc. :?:

I live in Charleston. I have had my boat in Lake Moulterie a few times. For something interesting, at least to me, use the launch ramp on 17a in Moncks Corner. Then take the Tail Race canal up to the lock. Then ride the lock to the lake. Very easy lock to ride. The lake is shallow on the sides and deeper towards the center. The only thing is that both lakes were just flooded land. A lot of trees stumps also. I hope I can help. I sail in the bay if that helps. Tony
