Mac 26 Land Camping: Anyone Have Issue With Campground?

I am a member of a membership campground. I sold my camper 4 years ago and bought a Mac 26X. I was informed recently that I could not camp in my boat because it was not considered a “Camping vehicle” and/or “recreational vehicle”. I have copied the Member Rules below:

“Camping vehicle” and/or “recreational vehicle” means any vehicle that comfortably sleeps one or more persons overnight on an extended basis. We recognize motorhomes, travel trailers, folding trailers, pickup campers and conversion vans as camping vehicles and/or recreational vehicles.

I was told that the regional manager is saying the only vehicles they allow are listed in the second sentence. I have asked to have her contact me.

I imagine they do not want to open the door to all kinds of "junk" coming in to the campground, like people sleeping in an open cabin motorboat or other odd arrangements. This is a nice organization of campgrounds which is why I bought a membership many years ago. I was told by the local manager that my Mac is much better than some campers that roll in there at times. But rightly so, he is abiding by what he is hearing from his regional manager. I have had a good experience thus far with the organization but this is obviously disappointing to me.

Have any of you had problems with campground management when you want to camp in your Mac at their campground?

Are any of you members of a membership campground, and has there been any issue camping in your Mac there?

Thanks

We have been told there are no vacancies a few times in parks where there is a low vacancy rate even though there were vacancies available for smaller vans.
Most parks are now set up for smaller vans (here) and are just not interested in anything that doesn't fit neatly especially if they think they will fill up anyway, it's a differnt story once you get off the beaten track though.
One place said they had no vacancies so we launched and then anchored off their beach for free? :D

We were surprised by a southern Arizona RV park which didn't want us staying in their park. First time we've had that reaction. We went to the place next door and they were more than glad to accomodate us.

Sometimes it all works out for the best, we couldn't get in any of the nine parks in one town and eventually found one well out on the same river, which we liked so much we stayed for a week.

If you have a Porta potty and cooking stove you are considered as a Recreation Vehicle. No campsite should denie you of access unless it prohibits boats and they would have to be private.
There are length resrictions in many parks and overhead clearance

I had exactly that problem at Trumbo Point in Key West two years ago. I was refused a camp spot because my Mac was not a "camper". I asked to see the manager and took a copy of the original sales brochure, the one with the interior pictures that points out a Mac is a good camper vehicle. After review of the pics and my agruement that the only difference between my 26ft Mac and my 26ft Yellowstone was one had a pointy end they allowed me to stay one visit.
Last year, when I returned the manager said that I was welcome and because of me the park name was changed from an RV Park to a Recreational Park.
I believe you could prevail also, with a gently arguement that a Mac does meet the requirements of sleeping one or more persons overnight on an extended basis. Its just an unusual shaped "travel trailer" that is better equipted than most folding trailers and many conversion vans.
