Well, it was quite a bit of work, but I installed the rotary Rotech steering system on my 2003 26M. My factory installed rack and pinion steering was always making cracking sounds. Upon inspection the outer cast casing was cracked in half. I was very dissatisfied with the rack and pinion steering and I did not want to replace it with a similar system.
I had to move the steering wheel up to where the tach was originally located. Also, had to use the angled mounting bracket since at this point the console slopes inward. The steering wheel actually feels much better in this position. The throttle cable and control box had to be moved forward and lower. I had to reroute the throttle cables out of the steel pedestal suppoting pipe and then into the console.
It all fits and looks very good. Will test this weekend on the bay.
