Zeno's Arrow - Hawaii Bound (hopefully)

OK, everyone,

After a couple of years of crying about not getting to sail any solo long distance trips anymore, my bosses at North Sails finally got tired of having to listen to me and have agreed to let me take 3 months off starting about July 1st (during our slow season & without pay, but that's OK) so now I will finally get a chance to try and sail Zeno's Arrow from the west coast to Hawaii; that is unless they change their minds. I now am officially planning on doing the crossing this summer. :)

At this point, I'm thinking of starting out from San Diego, as we have a loft there and I can get some support from them. Additionally, I thought it would be kind of fun to get this site involved with tracking my trip, and perhaps getting a little support (though there isn't much I really need), from some of the sailors and MAC dealers on the site especially in Southern California. Should be a good thread, and I anticipate some interesting (heated?)discussions.

I'm heading off to Cambodia tomorrow (Mekong River) and expect to not be on the 'net' much for a couple of weeks (back on May 27), so that should give you guys/gals some time to get the discussions rolling.

Aloha Maddmike, When you reach Hawaii let me buy you a Mai-Tai at Moose Mcguillicuddy in Waikiki. I once lived there and still have relatives on Oahu. I cant wait to keep up with your new adventure on this thread.

Go for it Mike. When you set foot in Hawaii it will force those fools at sailing Anarchy to eat a lot of harsh words. Wish several of us could sail along with you. Steady winds and smooth seas. 8) 8) 8)

I think you might be able to buy the policy cheap off the guys who set one up when I was hang-gliding in Antarctica and then did the North Pole Skydive trip, they sold it in turn to some others folks when we decided to do the Liquid Oxygen climb on the North side of Everest, who in turn sold to their friends when I did the Waterways of the Americas trip, last I heard my old buddy Steve Fossett had it, but now that I've managed to outlive most everyone, maybe your odds are better?----- :D

Hawaii by August - fair winds and following seas (and Japanese language tapes if you want to communicate when you get there)

Zeno's Arrow may be a Mac in name, but is legendary, and probably the most modified 26X on the planet! If you search you can find more about it on the web, as well as here.

I don't think Mad Mike got that moniker for nothing either.

Don't try this at home. :D
