I just made it in last night, 01:30 through rain, sleet & snow for last 5 hours...
Can someone remind me why I left this:
For this

With friends like that, who needs enemas... Or was it enemies?
Returning to real life is always a downer. Glad you had a safe return.

My wife was literally crying as we were leaving the keys last year. She is so ready to be on a boat full time. She's happy now that we're going back. Less than two weeks to go for us.

Thanks for posting! I enjoyed the pictures too!
Quick question: How do you like the new Jib? I have a 150 Genoa but wonder about the Jib being better sailing to windward!
Thanks!
Doug
p.s.
Enjoy your trip, CptRon! Great seeing StormWalker sailing!

Hey Doug,
I switched out for the higher winds in FL, flew it 2x
First time only flew head sail w/o mainsail, 2-4 ft waves didn't have oomph or whump. Yeah, I know, theres no whump in a jib. Wished I had on the genoa...
2nd time the waves were down - because there was no wind at all...
I think it will be useful on LI Sound, close to wind, light chop. I'll give you a better report regarding that in May & June sailing at home.
Going to windward on a rough ocean was not fun & not possible without motorsailing. Ocean waves & swells bullied me & took my milk money
I thought I was in a bounce castle & was not going up top to pull out that mainsail - forgot to unzip mainsail cover
Even with extra weight I keep forward: 2 house batts, water tank & anchor chain... the short wave periods, deep troughs made me nervous. Count that to my inexperience. I was glad Macs mainly come with >50HP. Not to go fast, but push through, turn quickly between wave periods & match speeds of following seas - especially through the inlet pins.

This last post of yours was more informative than many I have read.
Thanks,

IMHO, Jan-Mar, you'll get more active time on the water in the Gulf, bayside. Did I state this already? I don't know - I hope Jim Beam remembers
Hey Jim...?
You may also get unobscured sunsets
