There once was a sailor called Mayo,
whose latch caused much angst and dismayal,
The advice of the crew was ignored and impugned,
Two deadbolts - resulting - prevailed!

:P

Not sure about the electronic knock though.

Everyone does: Da da da da da - da da!

Or: Da da da daaa, Da da da daaa....

Know any others?

So when you put one on a gate to lock it, does it become a "gate latch lock hasp"? :P

Ok, this pic I found is not a Mac, but I have an idea to submit (and try to boost this thread to eight pages... haha)
Since on my Mac, the vertical hatchboard can not be removed without pushing forward the sliding hatch a couple of inches, it seems to me that if a linch-pin hole was drilled thru the sliding hatch hump so a pin could be inserted to slightly protrude outside the boat, then then the sliding hatch could not be opened and therefore the vertical hatchboard could not be lifted out. The boat would be secure, at least from someone with a padlock-cutter. And the system would work for someone inside the boat at night without having to have the outside hasp closed. The pic above shows the intended position of the linchpin. Any negatives to this? I may try it.....
