Re: Roger MacGregor needs u!
I wish I had checked this forum earlier. I would let them draw and quarter my 26d. I've only had it for a month and it needs serious cleaning! I've spent 5 hours washing mold and stuff out of the cabin. I'm not done! I want to get in with the power washer in the spring and clean out the bilges and all. Then the foam blocks. If they cleaned them for me I'd be happy. Yuck.

Actually Newell, as Mike explaided to me, MacGregor has all of the paper/computer data on the 26D but they needed a hands on 26D to check their data and do some dynamic flow/measuring/and testing. I just happened to be the lucky one to respond to their request. The 26D is known to be a fast boat and data from it will make the future boats even faster. And, Yes, "Andiamo" is getting a special detailing for her services.Newell wrote:Do I understand correctly that Bob and Joni with a Mac D named Andiano are having their boat "tested" by the factory? I heard this on the HPCC e-mail site. I would like to hear about what the factory actually does as opposed to all the speculation in this thread.
While I was visiting Mike, I was able to see the new 70 footer still in the molds and was treated to a tour of the factory. Very impressive, I must say. Mike was explaining to me how the rotating mast will improve the performance of my 26D and make her even faster.
Santa, I have a list!

So then this is to build a new "pure sail" MacGregor based on the 26D hull shape? The Hunter build is true?roril wrote:While I was visiting Mike, I was able to see the new 70 footer still in the molds and was treated to a tour of the factory. Very impressive, I must say. Tell mike to throw in his roller furler as well if they're going to rebuild your rigging from scratch!
