It is virtually pointless to even disuss which is 'better' M and X proponents will not be swayed.

it is no different than on the MGB board I am on. You have the Chrome bumper lovers and the rubber bumper lovers.. both camps have very good reasons for liking their models.. Same deal on the Audi board I am on. The mk1 TT owners, as a rule, hate the new mk II TTs (ugly, imo) redesign, although everyone will agree the new design is 'better' in all respects (but is BUTT ugly, again, IMO) (we have a mk I TT, btw)

Whenever there is a significant change, there WILL ALWAYS be a significant percentage of the community that will dislike the new change. Some because they don't like the ergonomics, some wont like the color, some - just dislike change as a rule!

I find it funny that the reasons X lovers state that the X is 'better' is the exact same reasons I feel the 04 M is better! Same points prove both sides!

I have been on both boats and I do see the positive traits of both boats (or all 3 styles if u break the Ms into 2 groups). I would still give the nod to the 03/04 M (funny we actually own an 04!!) for balance of performance, ergonomics, features, comfort.

Again, it is a virtually pointless debate, there is not going to be a winner! It is also moot, as there will be no NEW X models rolling off the line.

What has been useful for me is the contrasting of the features and considering the possible Mods that I might make to adapt these features. Otherwise your right, when comparing an :macx: to an :macm: they are both above average. you have to think about it for a minute
