Re: MUCK-About Sail
Really appreciate the info Robert! Once we commit, I'll hit you up for specifics and we'll nail everything down. I am a vet, but that doesn't get you anything here in San Diego where the military slips are actually on military bases.
Good news on the Nebraska stop in the middle of nowhere--I've got an old Navy buddy who lives less than an hour away, so we're going to tuck in with them. It's coming together pretty well!

Sea Wind and crew will be MUCKing again.
Some thoughts:
1. http://www.gangplank.com/ is a marina right in downtown DC, and blocks away from Metro and Smithsonians but would not be surprised if it is already booked and would not have space for the trailer. I think that they also have some mooring balls. Keep in mind that DC is not as boat friendly as San Diego (I was in Coronado 2 weeks ago and was impressed with all the marinas and restaurants near the convention center), you might be better off booking a marina in Old Town Alexandria, VA.
2. The base in Quantico is about 25 miles from DC
3. Sandy Point State Park does not allow sleeping on the boat.
4. Jim King (aka c130king) and I stayed at www.annapoliscitymarina.com for the "Sippy Cup" and would recommend it; but again no space for truck and trailer.
5. How about an RV park? http://www.cherryhillpark.com/index.cfm Not sure if they allow boats (unless you register it as a fifth wheel), but this is about 2 miles from the College Park metro station in MD and 15 miles from downtown DC.
I work 6 blocks away from the National Mall, so let me know if you need any pointers around here.
Pedro
If you are not sleeping on the boat, I am pretty sure that something can be arranged with our marina which is 10 miles south of Annapolis and about 40 minutes from DC. Even leaving the truck and trailer here could be arranged. If you want to sleep on the boat you might be able to get a transient slip, my boat (and plenty of Macs here) stays on the trailer.mastreb wrote:Boat + Trailer storage in the Chesapeake area July 19th..24th

The wife and I sleep on the boat all the time. Where could we put the boat in, leave truck and trailer and join in the festivities?

2. Boat + Trailer storage in the Chesapeake area July 19th..24th. None of the Marinas in San Diego actually provide this, so I'm not sure how it would be done in VA/MD

Re: MUCK-About Sail
Hey Ron, Good to hear from you. Lots of info on previous post. Sandy Point State Park (SPSP) you can leave your truck and trailer for a few days but can't sleep on the property or anchor in their little harbor. My marina has transient slips and I think I can work with management to allow truck trailer parking for a few days, they were flexible last year.cptron wrote:The wife and I sleep on the boat all the time. Hey TF, My name is not Rob, it's Ron Brown. The admiral and I are from Chinquapin NC and this will be our first MUCK sail. I appreciate your info and would like to hear more. What's the name of your marina and do they have a ramp? and any other information would be helpful as we are not familiar with that area at all.

Re: MUCK-About Sail
Ron sorry for the 2am typo.
I definitely remember you, we had an awesome sail back from Cape Lookout. I reached over 8 knots that day.
Here is the link to my marina white rocks. http://whiterocksmarina.com/
They do have a ramp although it is rather primitive it's in protected waters & it works. Some local knowledge, which I will share later, will be helpful. The slips are in good condition with electric and water. There should be some more information on my very first post. I assume this would be for the days surrounding the MUCKAbout.
Let me conversed with management and make sure the deal is still available this year. I'll get back to you on this.

Re: MUCK-About Sail
I spoke to Management at my marina good news!
The marina has water & electric hook-up, new bathhouse, and new restaurant.
Please email me for qualifying details and info I'd rather not post here.

Okay Ron, you're on!
I'll get another Holy City Mac Roundup going so you and Vic can help me make Charleston the 3nd Drunkest City in the Country. Any other takers?

Okay Vic... It may not be homebrew, but I will ensure I bring some form of homemade elixer! It will be hot, maybe some Limoncello!
