hello to all ! I just bought a "D" boat (26D).I desperately want to get this boat on the water and join the Catalina Armada. Here's the problem. I haven't sailed in 20 years and the idea of getting into trouble out there causes me some serious "puckering". My boat is sound and has made many trips to Two Harbors with its previous owner ("the coordinates are still in the gps" says he). I have a one year old 18 HP outboard that Ive used quite a bit at Lake Mead this summer and feel confident in. I know Im an idiot for asking, but, is there a seasoned vet out there who might consider jumping on my boat for the trip over to assist me in ...well..., getting there? I'd be coming down from vegas for the trip. Im probably too chicken to go anyway but thought I'd tease myself. Thanx!!

H all,
This fell apart, the SCMA did not spend $$ and effort to get it going. Main reason given is short time line, economy, motorboat mentality, etc. We are looking at just a sailing demo from many of the remaining SOCAL boat dealers at the Long Beach Boat Show. Catalina, Schock, 5.7 and the Macgregor will be there along with some sailing schools all with free demo rides. Maybe next year.
