The only other thing that caught my eye & twixes my wallet is: this item
Gaz,
I would not feel safe with the high end weight limit being 5k Lbs. I would prefer higher. Also, how do the trailer guideposts pass under
Anyway, keep the posts coming.

now I feel bad i did.. i would've totally offered free overnight lodging here on your way down... It was right on your way. I saw you were in Selma (off 95) and I am only about 30 min from there.
Mom lives in Syracuse...so if I had known I would suggest you left NY to my house (10 hours) and then my house to FL another 15 hours or so to get to the miami
When you are on your way back let me know and Same offer applies.. I have space for both you and your boat. For a fellow member I am glad to help...and I get to see and crawl over your boat for ideas
Cheers Mate

Thanks for offer Dave
We're doin fine, so far. Just got dive certifications. I don't know why I/we waited so long. Beautiful day today. Mellow wind. Tonight, we'll try & make the sunset & happy hour at the Sunset Grill.
Gonna take Fri & run wife to Key West. Will concentrate on boating after her departure on Sat.

Once again, Tom, I've been schooled
You already know be careful regarding your health with snow removal. I'm up to that stage too.
The funny thing regarding this trip is, I almost didn't have the guts to take it...
A music buddy talked to me regarding how miserable & drained I'd been in December. It was the turning point for me. & while I haven't done nearly as much as I have wanted & planned, I'm glad I pulled the trigger.
I did a ton of work for this trip:
1. Remodded galley
2. Remodded v berth
3. Threw out Porta potti & installed Natures Head C T
4. Purchased all new galley ware

D.

E.

5. Did a quick "Jethro - Beverly Hillbillys / Sanford & Son" 2" velcro assembly install of a 24x18 window in my bimini (Done on the fly, last night in rented condo before moving onto boat... 4hrs)
6. Brought down more mods than I could hope to complete: New radar install, VHF, pedestal guard & electronics...
& tonight I have to, once again move back onto boat from week at condo with wife. I have major downsize issues regarding where I'm gonna put some Shtuff
Mind you, I'm not complaining or comparing lives just accounting & reconciling thoughts while online.
Looking at your pic, I'm glad & thankfull I'm here... But also have a lot of work to do in too windy paradise

Sorry I missed this Ray,
While the Brownell is 3x the cost I don't think I'm any better off regarding guide post clearing - especially mine with the "chariot wood guides" I have & the mast & radar arch:
So the
ScaffoldMart in NC
Wins by price & default. I'm thinking of picking it up on my way home with a stop in NC...
This way I wont have to pay freight
Regarding weight capacity, I'll be okay with a quick changeover for a keel support stand.

So I decided to eat out after I finished shopping in Marathon. I stopped into a place that caught my eye while driving back n forth, on the Gulf side. "The Island Fish Company"; Excellent conch fritters & hogfish dinner with rice & veggies, yum
As I was walking in I spied a mast among the boats tied to the dock. Wouldn't ya know it's a Mac

A 97

with orig aluminium rudder supports. My PO changed mine to stainless
This Capt isn't much for the internet, so is not on this site. But he drove his down from Indiana & is Really living the dream...
With some really nice mods I got pics of

:
Really nice wood work & made his own roller furling main.
I also thought his boot stripe was interesting. I might just do that to save the brown ring I'm famous for here
Am going diving tomorrow, if the weather & wind hold. Was a beautiful day, today...

He drove it down from Indiana, like me from NY. I think he's staying in Long Key. He motored in for dinner. Interesting roller furler. But with those aluminum sides, boom is the last thing you'll hear when it hits you
It's funny, I bumped into the Capt while in the restaurant bathroom. I was preoccupied thinking to myself: how am I gonna find this Mac owner while takin care of business & it turns out he was next door lol
It looked like they might have been stock sails. Boat was in good shape. Much cleaner than mine. I'm living like Sanford & Son 2 doors down from Mike. There's one other sailboat in the long term row, closer to the grilling area. Some really nice fishing monstrosities coming in & out & "Charter Boat Row".
I'm going diving in the afternoon with the Duck Key outfit here, first time. They snuck in two beautiful days. & it may stay this way with a brief shower or two forecasted. Much better than the first 2 weeks. I had to buy sweatshirts & a portable heater
Wish u were here Bahama, 'could use the fellowship

I've enjoyed following your adventure in the keys. Post more pics when you can!
As for the Mariner Drone, I truly wish I would have waited and bought one of those... My Phantom is in 6 fathoms....

Winter storm warning today
There gonna get a pseudo Wintry mix @ home tonight too...
Had a storm pop over this evenining here. I can't & won't complain.
Went diving today, although the winds were gusting over 20kts with 4-5' seas & a few new divers seasick. I got nasseus on my first day, 2/16. I just ran out of gas & got tired of tasting seawater & the strong ocean under water surge that mirrored the hula dance the boat was doing 25' above us - and worrying about my wife getting the procedures & evolutions correct in 4' visibility
I swear I heard the theme to " Gilligans Island" when the Capt. said we were heading out despite this squall chasing us:
Thankfully, he reassessed, before I had to make people uncomfortable
going into a Madea fit.
They were the kind of crappy conditions that make me appreciate how good a dive today was despite a few peeps blowing chunks on the deck. I just had to bear down to keep it down
Sorry, I didn't take dive pics, for today.

That's OK Greg.
Your finesse with the printed word was descriptive enough ."a few peeps blowing chunks on deck”. Thanks for that imagery Greg

That guy truly was living the dream. How long did he say he was staying in the keys for?
What Hp motor was on his X?
Thanks for sharing. One day I hope to have a prolonged stay in the keys on my sailboat. One day.......
