OK, I wasn't real keen on the puffin until it was explained above. Now that everyone here knows the meaning, I think it works quite well for our online community. Perhaps if the puffin were adapted to the burgee then it might also be added to the Macgregor Sailors web logo and modify the burgee further to include the .com address instead of the M & T:

OK, I added it and the poll results have been flushed (all old responses removed)... the polling will start all over again.
See the poll over here ... vote now!
(I do wonder how Laura Sharp will feel when she finds out! I hope she has a really great sense of humour.)

Now, would that be a white Waterbago or a blue Waterbago?!

Ohfergodssake. No, I am NOT making them in Blue. Or Black. Or any other damn color.
So there.

Blue, white, black, upside down or sideways - it might get some unwelcome attention from Winnebago's lawyers...

really, avoid the copyright issues and flip the Winnebago logo upside down. Or even just change it to a Macgregor M

Well, with the way the voting is going the legal intricacies of the Waterbago logo are likely to be moot... I don't think it's going to be the #1 choice when all's said and done.
At this moment:
- Puffin *with* the letters "M" and "T" (i.e. Kevin's original design) -- 3 -- 27%
- Puffin Only (*no* letters) -- 8 -- 73%
- Letters "M" and "T" only (*no* Puffin) -- 0 -- No votes
- Waterbago (*no* Puffin, *no* letters, just a 'Bago) -- 0 -- No votes
- Other (explain in your comments below) -- 0 -- No votes

So, if we hang the puffin burgee upside down, is that akin to flipping someone the bird?

I like the one you posted, don't need a T in it. Let the Tattoo do their own Burgee.

Taking Kevin's boat show sticker design, I thought it would make a great non-official burgee for Mac owners.
So a quick look at making actual burgees, this design might be costly. Each color adds cost. I'm seeing at least 4-5 colors here. It's still a nice burgee. Looking at about $250 setup cost and manufacture cost of $18 each, if we sold 20 of them, each would cost about $30. Price drops with volume.
With that said, is there any interest in a Macgregor burgee and what would you be willing to spend on one.

If it costs per colour. that likely means it's spot colour as opposed to process colour. That will mean EVERY colour has to be defined, including all the colours of the puffin's beak, and each intermediate colour in the tartan.
I think it would be wise to send the printer a quick proof and ask their opinion.

As long as you can tell us why they make sense!

Any particular meaning to those symbols / mascots?

I'm not a graphic artist (Duh!), but I think you get the drift. Someone more gifted than I can fix it.

The Waterbago thing is an inside joke among us on this board.. not sure it would draw much recognition outside the board.. Not sure it shows much pride in ownership either..
