I would like to see a catamaran in the 30foot range. They can jump into that market again now the the popularity is booming. But it needs to have living space. I could only imagine how the macgregor company, or its posterity could innovate it!

With the taxes in Cali I would not even sale coffee much less produce something. Should move to Texas

All this excitement and speculation makes me chuckle!!. Does anyone recall last years press release about a new boat from the Kelly-Hansen empire.Where"d that go anyway.Well it's still fun to daydream i guess!!!

Something like this occurred when Volkswagen ceased production of the longstanding Beetle (or was that Beatle). What wasn't apparent at the time was that, even though the surviving numbers eventually diminished, their desirability and value, went up. I don't have any doubts about the current, or future worth of my valuable and happy investment.

No, it is my understanding that they will not be using the old molds.
As I noted, the new 26-foot boat will be a
new boat.

The new company is called Tattoo yachts. They have a website, but it is still being updated.

Well, a little Google sleuthing comes up with an address of 3419 SE Lionel Terrace in Stuart, FL, which shows as Shearwater Marine and Whiticar Boat Works. Nice looking place, and only two blocks from Hake. Lots of big boat builders in that little patch of sand.
Hope I'm not dipping into the wild-ass speculation well here, but that's what came up on the Tattoo Yachts website, which includes a MacGregorexport.com reference.

Tattoo Yatchs ! sounds so California, free nipple piercing with each boat purchased. Sounds like a really classy operation.I guess the inherent business sense of dad might not be present in the offspring.

That can't be right. the first generation (Roger) builds the wealth. The second generation (the kids)conserves it, the third generation loses it.
