I can safely also affirm that I'm not a lesbian hippie from Oregon!
Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Look for a vehicle with Trailer Stability Program (TSP) or a similar system. They detect excessive sway from the trailer and then use the vehicle's brakes independently to counteract the sway. Works a charm.
Ditto Mastreb. It's mandatory and non-negotiable on my next purchase. It's been on the market for a few years now and appears to be all they said it would be (in the videos), and several manufacturers have now wisely jumped on the bandwagon. I would think it would be high on the priority list for anyone shopping for a newer tow vehicle and expecting to do a lot of towing with a Mac, and in particular when towing over the rated trailer weight.

I'm expecting that it can be disabled (temporarily, like regular stability control is) to prevent it from masking the symptom.

about the Mercedes, good choice, not only would it tow the mac fine, but the wife could go buy groceries in style, 70 grand, my choice f450 fx4 4x4, lockers, Diesel, extracab 8 foot bed, (wouldn't own a chevy) then have ten grand for fuel for the next few years, ohh and I would keep the truck at least 20 years, just like the rest of my crap.... :(

Yep I like it too I went with the short 5 1/2 ' box because I was going down to one vehicle the 6 1/2 & 8ft boxes with the 4 door supercab are a pita to find parking for when your in any city or big town u basicaly gotta look for a shopping mall to find a big enough place to park them , wanted the 4 doors so I still have room for people to sit comfortablely on a long trip , My winter rims with M/S tires are knobbier but very noisey @ highway speeds & less mp/g than my Mitch tires u see in that pic give better braking , higher mp/g , very quiet on the hi-way & 145.000km tire wear Oh & of coarse a very nice ride. when driving my Ford Ranger Supercab my freind she would frown if I went 10km over the speed limit on the highway but in my F150 we ran up to Quebec City 900km @ 135km/h , 35km/h over the posted speed limit & she never batted an eye lid :D :D :D , but she did say my that trip seemed shorter than normal :)

Just to be clear, I don't see any of those three attributes as being derogatory, they just kind of really are Subaru's market. Not sure why.

Probably something to do with Paul Hogan, and all the gum trees in the west coast. The (aging) hippie appellation might stick though - there's always a little madness in my reefing!

Bartmac, for many years PH (Mick Dundee) was synonymous with Subaru advertising - must have been the post 'Crocodile Dundee' popularity that caused it. By your comment it didn't seem to happen down unda....
If you've never been to Californiay take a look at some of the recent movies filmed there. It's covered in Eucalypts!
Melaleucas (Paper Barks) in Florida too - they hate them for taking over as an invasive species there.

And now ..... back to trailers, and swaying!

How the mighty have fallen! Not very high on the popularity list, when we were back in OZ earlier, due to the re-marriage thing. My best memories actually date back to B&W TV days when things were really crazy. Too bad!
Still... I named my ship in honor of Steve Irwin, who I think was one of Australia's best ambassadors - by Crikey!

Seahouse.... I think you've got it! :D
(I think we'll call this an inadvertent high-jacking in progress. :o

Yeah, dumping your wife, the mother of your kids, for your co-star often doesn't sit well with folks. Maybe that's why he spends a lot of time on his ranch in Colorado, or some such place, instead of down unda.
