How to upgrade to LED cabin lights ?

I can verify that the Walmart solar lights would not be legal to use as an anchor light. I cannot see them from across the bay let alone at two miles :o But I do have two of them that fit/slide nicely into 18" lengths of pvc that are spray painted black and attached to my rear railing. They provide a little light in the cockpit at night and really look nice as the boat sits in her slip. I have had a lot of comments on them.

Just an FYI.
I haven't read all the replies ( as there is a great deal of redundance and I have a short attention span ) so it may have already been noted.
"The indicator lights for the power switches on my "M" each draw approximately 220ma. "
so , if you have an anchor light or steaming light which is LED based , and ( like mine ) draws 160ma; You will use more power to light the panel lamp than the mast lamp.

I've got the superbright LED's for the cabin, how bout the model to replace the exterior lights?

The running lights/steaming lights use 12volt 44mm festoon bulb. I replaced all of mine. New ones are very bright and draw next to nothing.
