Hi,
I am the owner of the white Mac Gregor.
The black stripes have been white sprayed by a professional car painter.
He needed two hours to make the right color . Its a Volkswagen white with
red. Only the black stripes where resprayed. There is no significant
difference in color.
I am very happy with the modification. In my opinion it looks much better than the original.
A lot of people don t like the mac gregor. I Think one reason is the different looking. The black windows design is a powerboat
or corvette design- but strange for a sailboat for many people.
Some 26x owners asked me if my boat would be the 26M. (There is no
Mac gregor Dealer at the moment in Germany- therefore are no M s)

I am inclined to agree with you, partialy for the unique novelty of having a MacX without its novelty black stripe. Partially for the removal of the heat absorbing black surface, partially for not having that oxidized faded black-gray to keep polishing out, and partially for the sailboat look it adds. Thanks for speaking up and giving the details. Nice looking boat.

...Same opinion here. There are few (if any) changes I'd make to my "X". On second thought, I like the "M" appearance a little better.

I suppose it is definitely a toss up, since I prefer the styling of the X over the M.
(Good thing I own the 26X, eh?) .

Yeah, pollution is right.

I think white is alright, but would prefer the black if it didn’t fade. Probably easier over all to NewGlass the black every so often.

Or, heck, get a good fade going---makes it look like you've been round the Cape.

Also, the black is helpful when taking on small arms fire from pirates. They’re not sure where the windows are.

I gotta go sailing with sloop!!!!
