?
The aft part of my main halyard comes down from the block at the top of the mast, with the shackle on the end.
The other part comes down from the block at the top of the mast, and then goes through two blocks, on deck, and then the rope clutch.
I put the bungy cord about 5' above deck.
I don't need to unreav it. I used a longer mains'l halyard, and used the Mac mains'l halyard as the jib halyard, making them long enough that they would not have to be unreaved.

If in fact your still looking for spreader lights? LED self contained ready to go..... Spreader lights ? They can be found for about $15 to $40 at just about any Discount auto parts store. The Kids / Gang Bangers wannabes etc.. use them for running lights/glamour lights in the grill of those obnoxious little foreign cars they drive with the loud exhaust. That where I bought mine.. Water Proof ,Corrosion proof.. Mine cost $20 .. They work great.. I'm not reading up there but they light the deck well . I turn those on and my anchor light and I have SS Solar Yard lights at the stanchions and the Mast support . Total draw is almost nothing.. They all stay on, all night. They REALLY Light up my boat.. I have had numerous Water Authorities Compliment me on my Night Time at Anchor ANTI Collision preparedness..

They change no doubt day to day place to place.. Discount Auto Pep Boys etc ... Here is just about exactly what I bought.. All These Yahoos flood my mail box with junk mail and I happened to see these or similar on sale and bought them..
http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp ... %7CGRP2044
I shopped around.. I found those on sale for about $15=$20 I found a LED anchor light at W.M. on sale about $35 or so dollars and the same dang day low and behold ....Home Depot had 6 SS Solar yard light on sale for about $30.. I added a couple nice switches with LED tell tale lights ( so I know I have the lights on..)
Everything including Marine grade wire ran me in or around $150... Took me all of a day .. I used some 1" x 1" x 6" Aluminum angle to mount those running lights with SS nuts and bolts to the spreaders.. I made a New stronger this time Aluminum sheet stock for a mast cap for the anchor light.. I used 6 pieces of 3/4" PVC and some SS Hose clamps for mounting the Yard Lights.. Dang Boat looks like the Queen Mary Now, at night..
Very safe, easy to find, no matter how many drinks I have at the bar.. Makes it easy to see to tie up the dink and to board the boat..No Current Draw to speak of ...I can now just stumble into the cabin and sleep it off .. No Worries about someone... running into me while sit at anchor in the middle of anywhere or nowhere.. All Night Long.... BTW.. Mine are actually a little smaller.. about... 2" diameter.. More than enough but those 3" have more LEDs and there by , no doubt more light..

Dive, those look very nice and I think I'm going to get some. How much useable light do they put on to the deck from the spreader location?
Looks like a nice idea for the stern/engine well as well...

It's really bright and great for fishing/hoopnetting at night, but it puts a pretty big drain on the battery. How bright would you say your LED's are? i would love to switch over to LEDs, but I need flood light bright.

Well those lights are more than sufficient to Bait a hook.. walk around the deck.. see from a couple hundred yards away.. I don't think.... I could use them to read a book though..
Maybe, I would liken them to a back porch 40 watt light bulb?? Fine for everything but reading..
I think Crickey has an Excellent idea
and for $25 I need to try it.. Ty-rap a pair on the mast crutch and jury rig a 12V feed and see if I like them??

Having a boat that glows softly in the dark .... helps my scotch go down nice and slowly
