Yeah, that's not really a picture I'm going to get out of my head easy, thanks for the graphic.

I don't think my wife is going to go for that, and any guests that are in the cockpit will need to cover there eyes while your hanging out the head door - I don't think I could get final approval for that design.

In the mean time u look up to see someone on deck holdin onto the mast up-loading pic,s of U onto the Net because U forgot to close the blind :!: :o

how much time is actually spent in the head vs not instead of focusing on it as a drawback to the whole Mac experience.
That's a matter of opinion, and more importantly, timing! When you gotta go.......You gotta go :!: :D

Yep & I,ve heard some admirals on here say they do not like the head on the :macx: because everyone in the cockpit can here U go pee :?

So I guess it all "depends" just on how much privacy some may need :|
the cheapest & last resort

Short answer guys: You CAN move the head on the M boat to the same place it is on the X boat - and you can do it quite easily.

Just get out the multi tool and remove the shell for the dinette seat and then build the head with good old mahogany panels. While your at it you can also add a little more room in there.

Easy Peasy - just another very simple woodworking project and it would actually look pretty good when finished.

Then on the back side of that new head put in your chart table and remove the walls in the dinette and the old head and build a folding table that wraps around the Dagger Board trunk just like the Hunter and with the forward berth and the benches on each side you can easily seat six for dinner around that table.

Easy mod.

The answer to the Original Post is YES.

Boat that is exactly what I had thought of doing.

As for the suggestion of the Catalina 26, we have been looking at the 28. If we are going to go that route then it's straight to the 30 which in on the list for a few years down the road.

This has been a great topic to get our wife and I thinking of the differences. We have decided to hang on to the D for the summer. We will try to get on a few Ms and Xs on some group sails to really get to experience the other boats before making our choice.
Thanks All, Bob

I have an 26 x and enlarged the way to cramped small head by making a new cornewallsection and new door. The wall is standing on top of is standing on top of boardcase and makes the head much bigger and big enough for other than kids. The lover part of the new door is a curtain and i had to make a more narrow ladder.
