I have an Idasailor rudder set on my 26M; I'm very happy with the increased performance
and reduced stalling. I may order the Idasailor DB as I can use a new one. (Darn Lake Winnebago rock sharks!!)

I have them also on my :macm: first used one on my 26D, always wanted their daggerboard with the extra weight, but looks like they no longer sell them.

This used to be fairly routine with wood plank/clinker hulls. Essentially they'd just unbuild the hull at a center point and rebuild it longer.

Was this a fiberglass boat? Getting the hull, hull liner, deck, and deck liner all correct would be quite a trick, although by no means impossible. Center of effort and center of lateral resistance are big problems, although CE could be tweaked by adding a yawl mizzen mast and CLR could be changed with larger rudders.

Was actually a trimaran .but it was really nice one not like a home made job and I gotta say it was beautiful when it was done .the hulls were straight as a arrow .smooth as glass .

I just had a bunch of work done to my Catalina and that was my first experience with serious structural glass work and west system ,really nice boat ,bought it from state farm auction ,really was going to get all the electronics and auto pilot etc.had grounded ,did not have a scratch on it .had the catalina smile ,when I went to drop the keep you could see what looked like stress cracks through the bottom paint ,a little bit of tabbing inside where the motor mounts had to be redone .it was great that they used giant stainless keel bolts . would be tempted to build a 30-32 trailer sailer ,maybe a small center cockpit with a small aft cabin ,but the water ballast blows that whole idea out of the water ,would not want to build internal ballast tanks .
