A couple of pictures of the CFI FF2 Furler on an :macx:

Mine is on a Johnson quick release lever which moves it up about 8 inches off the deck and mast, but the bottom mount isnt changed

Couple comments

1 I start with the halyard and head of the sail as far up the extrusion as I can - when you pull the sail luff taut and stretch it down it comes about 4 inches in my experience.

2 The slot in the extrusion where you feed the boltrope is about a foot above the the ring in this picture - I push the bottom bolt rope down so that the entire bolt rope is in the extrusion. You have to bend the sail a bit to get this done but it will give you that extra 0.001 knot speed.

3 Note the pin/ringding on the green plastic cup - this is the one you remove to push the cup up the extrusion to check your bearing/turnbuckle

That's the main issue - people adjust them and then forget to wire them again, and they can un-do themselves over time...wire it up once you've adjusted the length to what you want, and you'll be fine!
Happy Sailing!
I will check that sometime soon. I've had the mast up and down quite a few times recently and can't stand the thought of doing it again right away. But I will check it. I hope that I can raise the black plastic piece above the drum enough to see the bottom of the turnbuckle -- things are fitting pretty tight and I don't have a lot of room at the top of the furler either. I'd prefer not to have to dismantle the whole thing.

I'm busy getting the mac19 ready for sale but I go down to the big TO now & then to see my youngest daughter so maybe one of these days we could meet & look at your boat & see what the issue is !
I removed the Mac furler from my M & installed two Harken 00 Furlers
