Our boat name is
"Airbender"
This is after a show called Avatar, The Last Airbender. My son and I loved to watch this show together and we've seen the entire series and are awaiting the live action film next year.
Basically the story is about a different world where the planet is divided into 4 tribes, Air, Water, Earth, and Fire. Each tribe can control their own element at will, these people are called benders and some are stronger than others. The Fire nation tribe decides they are the strongest and want to rule the world, they start by taking out the entire Airbender tribe accept for 1 child, called the Avatar. The Avatar is the only person that can master all four elements and is basically a protecter to humanity - the story follows the child as he matures and learns to master all 4 elements and put the Fire nation tribe in thier place.
Each tribe has a symbol. Here is the symbol for Air and it appear under the name on the side of our boat:
I like to think that I am an Airbender trying to master my element.
Have a Merry MAC Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year!

I named my boat "Miss Reba Lynn" after my daughter. It will always remind me of the close bond we had until the teen years.

My Avatar will be the name of the boat, even though I do not plan to apply the name to the stern. If I could figure out how to post a better image you would see that it is the outline of a McDonnell Douglas F-4
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F-4_Phantom_II , the Phantom II, around “The Spook” the F-4 emblem. In a life now far far away I had the privilege riding around in the back seat as the Weapons System Officer (WSO). Built into the graphic are the numbers II, 5, and 7. WSOs usually are not get assigned call signs, but for the best four years of my life, flight testing all the USAF models of the F-4, I was allowed to occasionally fly under my own call sign, Fantom7, Fantom5, and finally Fantom2. The names are changed/shortened to comply with FAA flight plan filing standards. The image will be applied on each side aft after a good polishing. Over the radio she will be the Fantom out of Ogden UT.
Most fun you can have with your boots on,

I grew up in North St. Louis County near McDonnell and saw the first F-4's fly. Latter I was on the USS Constellation and got to see them land and takeoff. They were simply amazing, I can't imagine what it would of been like to have flown in one. The sailboat must seem pretty tame after that,

The first time I heeled at 40 degrees in my M, I was MUCH more frightened than I EVER was in an A-4 Skyhawk or A-6-A Intruder, because I was out of my element on a sailboat! Besides, I didn't really care if I lost an aircraft (as long as I survived, of course) (I didn't want to be in an aircraft anyway) - - - but I did care about losing my

- - - having it sail away by itself while I swam

When I asked why, they told me because its white and it flies! LOL
They love having the fastest sailboat on our lake....

Our Mac was re-named from "Narid" to "Indulgence" by her previous owner.
I'm not sure, but it might have been a nod to his wife who indulged his sailboat needs.
After they sold her to us they bought a motor home and now explore the country
a different way. We saw nothing wrong with the name and it's kind of grown on us,
so she stays "Indulgence".
However. Another boat is definitely in our future. We've sailed solid 32 and 36
foot charter boats and are now actively looking for a keelboat in that range for
the West Coast. We were joking around about boat names last August on our boat
in the Gulf Islands and came up with this:
I have recently developed asthma, if I don't use my inhaler my air passages close up and
you can hear me wheeze a block away. Janet has gotten seasick every time we've
been near the ocean. We are going to name our keelboat and dinghy
"Wee-sea" and "Quee-sea"

Our Mac

is our retirement boat and probably our last big boat .
We bought our first big boat (biiger than a canoe) when the kids were little . It was an old , needed alot of fixing , pontoon boat , that we loved dearly and used constantly . The pontoon boat was named after all 5 kids
TATR MARIE
T Tony
A Adam
T Timothy
R Ricky
Marie for our only daughter Rebecca Marie
Since our Mac

Is our last boat we named it after the first boat TATR MARIE II
AS far as my avatar of Gypsy , that comes from our cabin cruiser . My Mother was Hungarian . When my Dad would get to drinking and my Mother would raise hull about it . He would say you Hungarian Gypsy ! That is about the worst thing you can call a Hungarian , a Gypsy .
So we named that boat HUNGARIAN GYPSY
I go by Gypsy as the idea of being a nomad and taking your home with you . We plan to retire soon and live aboard our Mac

for as long as we are able , travelling both by land and water.
