You can get wireless internet access using WiFi (802.11b/g) at the Flying J truck stops. About 40 marinas in Puget Sound and the inside passage have the same thing. On our 23 day trip this summer I used it a few times. Kinda neat to sit in the cockpit of the boat with a laptop and be connected to the world. You can get access in time blocks or subscribe to longer term use at a lower price if you are going to use it a lot.
My house is also all setup. I have a wired network to every room for the desktop machines and then a wireless overlay that lets me go anywhere with my laptop and still be connected. Works great on the deck out back and even in the boat parked along side the house.
Most of the new laptops these days have the capability built in. You can get a PCMCIA card to add to older laptops to give them the capability.
We bought one!
