Great videos Doug!Doug W wrote:We won't be able to make it this year. It's winter so I have been putting together videos from last summer. I've finished my two videos from last year's Southport sail. We enjoyed it quite a bit!

Yes, the plan is to stay Saturday night at Southport marina.Tomfoolery wrote:Just to be clear, you're spending Friday night at the Southport Marina docks, then sailing up the river on Saturday? About 26 miles or so?
That's what I saw also. However if you get up and leave early enough, 6-8 am,fishheadbarandgrill wrote:Oops... Flood on Saturday which means we can sail on Saturday... and probably motor on Sunday back to Southport.
I also found a neat restaurant in Wilmington within walking distance that should be perfect for our group for Saturday night. Meals look to be in the $20 range. Will post update soon.

Ron,
Did you mean the plan is to spend FRIDAY night in Southport Marina? It's a long walk from Southport to Downtown Wilmington for dinner Saturday night.

I have to beg off. Sunday May 8 is Mothers' Day, and with the admiral's mother, her sister, and her all in the same town, there's no way she's going away.
Sorry. Maybe next year.

I would have thought having the mother in law in town would be the perfect reason to GO.

It is. But I'd better bring all my clothes, as it would be ugly when I got back, so better to not bother coming back.SENCMac26x wrote:I would have thought having the mother in law in town would be the perfect reason to GO.Tomfoolery wrote:I have to beg off. Yes it is. My bad. But it's still the same weekend, and my job on Mothers Day is to work as dumb mule labor in the admiral's garden.

Re: Southport Sail
We will be eating at Paddys Hollow in Wilmington, $15 to $20 a plate, portions are substantial and food is excellent. Excellent place to take the admiral for Mothers Day.

And I'll be expecting a float plan for your upcoming Erie Canal trip. However I don't think we will be up nights waiting for you like you did with us.fishheadbarandgrill wrote:I'll be bringing my appetite!
Have you heard from Vic. Is he coming? I guess I need to call him sometime this week.
