ETEC 90: Poor Motoring Performance

I think I was having the same problem but was more concerned with the bow and ploughing water. The boat is in the shop about an hour away, but after looking at a picture, the anode seems to be straight.

I think there is a recent thread on the subject. I don't where it is.

Actually, that's not the anode. The anode is that cunk of bare metal that looks completely out of place...

I think your're right. I haven't spent much time on that end of the engine. I suppose there is a trim tab there somewhere. I'll take a better look when I get it back.

That little wedge thing that is rather prominently displayed above the prop blade in that photo is the steering "trim" adjustment. Adjust it to remove steering loads. That reminds me, I need to tweak mine a bit too...

But, its not the sacrificial anode. The anode is a separate chunk of bare metal that is better visible from the side of the motor.

On some motors, the two are one and the same. On the ETEC, they are separate...
