Even after Kevin's reasonable explanation last week? Reread the previous page...
Your Mac is already represented by one of the current smilies. How significantly more beneficial is it to need a custom smilie to be part of this Mac community?

How many mastless Macs are active on this forum?

K9Kampers. I am in SW Florida and Mastless during the low wind and High heat during 5 months here in SW Florida (May-Oct.).
Just do the day trips to Sanibel Island to swim.
I am at 64 yrs young and don't like to rig the boat in 90 degree heat and dereg it at 4pm at 95 degrees .
That's waiting in line for a ramp space.
In and out less than 3 min. without mast/boom etc. :)

I run mastless, too, so trust me, I do understand that the boat is capable of this mode.

That being said, I will reiterate my previous statement that mastless Macs were never produced as a formal model by the company and as such there is not going to be an avatar for them on this forum.

There is a technical term for that process of converting a Mac into a trawler, don't cha know.

It's called "Macular imastulation". :o

...Sorry. ( No I'm not.)

I'm sorry, I thought you were asking about a Mac 25 avatar, which is presented in your profile. There is no Mac 25 smiley.

While its true that MacGregor never sold a boat without a mast , they highly advertised the dual nature of the boat . All the sales video' s of the boat point out the fact that its as good without a mast as it is with a mast . Part of our decision to buy a Mac was because of this dual nature . it is said that as sailors age they usually move to powerboats . With a Mac they are able to do this without buying a new boat . We were powerboaters , having owned three Bayliners before buying our Mac. We wanted to try sailing . For two years we lived mostly aboard our Mac and traveled the Gulf , during this time we came to the conclusion we don't like sailing . When we came home this time , we demasted her , and roofed over the stern cockpit . We went back to power boating without selling and buying another boat , a MacGregor option . We ask for a simple avatar to represent this growing segment of Mac owners . Its a simple request , if you can pop up three Tats on a Mac site overnight , surely it wouldn't be that hard to pop out one for us .

How about just making your signature picture an avatar of your liking? Your identity/preference is advertised every post. If you need an avatar to put in your message, post a picture on PhotoBucket and link to it whenever you want to use it.
Really, this forum is not about the avatars, it is about the bragging, banter, ribbing, and even the helpful suggestions sometimes. You asked, your request was denied, now either make a clever workaround or worry about something else.

If you really want another avatar you should contact James Cameron. He would be more than happy to make another Avatar.

As much as I like your rig, you would be knocked down on any thunderstorm we get every day during 5 mo. of the year, here is SW Florida.
I guess it works for you up north.
The rest of the Mo's. we like the working jib, and at times a reef or two in the main.

Actualy dave my boat is heavily laden as such all that well placed extra ballast so to speak allows me the luxury of flying a lot of laundry out there with no issues

I spent three months mastless after a particularly embarrassing Macular Imastulation (during which another Mac went past oogling my moment of inglory).

It was during this time that I finally came to appreciate the "70's" styling of the MacGregor M. Unlike a more traditional sailboat, it looked like it may well have been designed as a cabin cruiser. We continued to use the boat for the months it took to get a new mast shipped in, have my irrational mods applied, and be rerigged from scratch.

It's a competent boat in any configuration.
