You could commission the plastic supply company to make them entirely - but also, there were alot of guys working at the plastic supply place that would have been willing to do the cutting and finishing on those covers, if I had asked them the right way and confidentially. Lotsa folks are looking for side-money, especially at this time of year. It might cost a hundred dollars or so, just the labor, but they may be able to get the plastic at their discount, and do the work there on their own time. I don't know about MDR, or the rest of SoCal, but things are easy like that in Nashville.
Then again, what is there to lose,? buy yourself a 50-dollar belt sander and a cheap drill, maybe a jig-saw, and finish them yourself. Work is good for the spirit.
