Base plate has a single thru bolt that is 9/16" bolt & nut and a single phillips screw. With the mast already down, it took me roughly 15 minutes to change out the washers and install the bearing assy (packed with white lithium grease. The mast rotates freely now. So much so that I had to tie it off when motoring in heavy waves to keep it from slapping back `n forth against the spreader.

My mast bearing assembly was not aligned appropriately (it was not perpendicular to the mast) nor was the bolt securing the stack tightened enough to keep them flat.

Took it apart, aligned the mast base pad, greased the stack with PTFE, and replaced the washers with 'oilite' bronze washers.

Now it's tight, flat, and turns when needed. Before it was very uncooperative.
