I have a lot of experience with rocky bottoms in Jamaica and Grand Cayman but not in a Mac ( I am a reformed powerboater/fisherman ). The bottoms there are are usually either sand or rocks/dead coral. Danforths or Fortresses are pretty much the standard there for smaller boats and usually do a good job. Larger boats ( 50+ ft.) may carry a 2 pronged fisherman's anchor for the rocky stuff.

Our Sarca anchor is performing great so far and except for an initial slip in hard clay has been faultless, my worry was retrieving it (cost) but the slot to allow the link to slide forward works a treat (so far).
Just had to fabricate a bow roller to carry it.

Just not game enough to use it in the river with fallen timber which could tangle the rode, for short stays use either the danforth or a wire pick anchor.
Reckon I could make a sarca and it would be a hull of a lot cheaper.
